November Update from the Residential Institutions Statutory Trust Fund

No.

2013

New name for RISF

We have created a new service name for the Residential Institutions

Statutory Fund.

The Board wants survivors to feel that the organisation is

respectful, flexible and warm hearted and dedicated to extending support,

representation and guidance. It feels that

Caranua

communicates this better than the Residential Institutions Statutory Fund

-

and is easier to say.

Inviting applications in January

–make sure we have your details

We will be inviting applications from eligible survivors in January

2014.

In the meantime, we will be publishing the scheme criteria which will provide

information on what services and other assistance can be applied for and

how applications will be assessed.

People will be able to apply electronically or on paper.

They will also be able to nominate someone to make an application on their behalf. We will

have a special freephone number and PO Box for applications.

To be eligible to apply people must have received an award from the Redress Board or a Court.

Relatives of survivors who have receivedawards are not eligible to apply.

We promise the application process will be as simple and friendly as we

can make it and that help with making an application will be available for

anyone who needs it.

If you are on our mailing list we will send you information on the scheme as

soon as we have it. If you received this update you are already on our list.

It will also be on our website

www.caranua.ie

If you are not on our list yet, pleasemake sure get on it so that you don’t

miss out on any information. See “Receive Updates”.

New staff

We have two new members of staff

who have come from other parts of the Irish civil service. Fiona Coyne is Director of Services and is responsible

for all our survivor services, including managing and deciding applications.

Fiona was previously Director of Participation in the Sports Council.

Conor Morrison is Head of Finance and Administration with responsibility

for the smooth running of our office and all its systems and for financial

management and reporting. He has come to us from the Houses of the

Oireachtas where he held a post with similar responsibilities.

This brings our staff number to four.

Tell us how to improve the website

If you’re a user of our website we’d like to hear what you think about it so

that we can make it better. There is a short questionnaire on the website

about what you would like to see more and less of, so we’d be grateful if

you would take the time to complete it and send back to us. Here’s the link

Yes Rob, if you initially signed up for their updates, they will send them out as their mature. I got the same one in my email earlier today.

I realy dont know what to say. I read all the papers and there is no mention of industriel schools Its for all who have been in care Anyway when i read what is being proposed i dont believe it concerns us at all Housing overseas is not possable. Or perhaps in England. Temporary lodgings is only keeping people in the same state. There are empty houses and those in need are staying in unstable situations. And education at our age is a cruel joke. We have grown up a long time ago. Its too late for us.Even medical costs are up to us. Like others i have been paying doctors most of my life . To heal from outside but the inside is haunted. This kind of thing when thay know that most are excluded because we left is sick.

What does caranua mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

NEW FRIEND! which is frankly worse than offensive
Pauline,, Rob,, Rob Northall, Mossie,, Caranua means New Friend,, but my suspicions,, lead me to thinking,, its Our Old Enemy.. And with Quinns Monumental Cockup,, dumped, in the Dail Sewers,, this lot of vindictive bootlicking crooks will be on the Warpath. As we have exposed them for ther Quinns Sins.. Like Greeks,, beware of Politicians,, bearing gifts or extolling the Gifts of their New Friends,, from the same hell. Old enemies,, with slighter hands.
And The Winner Is. Of our New Friends Competition,, "How to improve Our Website" Well,, firstly Dump the Dough upon the Victims and then Close the empty Fund. No need for your Redundant Website. Simple. Cara Nua,,, moh Eireannach Huain. Ta tu aig guid,, an aireagid. Cara Nua.
Arigead (money)
So in Bhearla (Anglish) You are stealing the money New Friend. Never a truer word spoken,, by this Irish Infant child slave of Irish State and Churches. Am I right,, or just right. Is sea. = Yes.
