THE MINISTER for Education is to write to the 18 religious congregations, which ran residential institutions where children were abused, asking them to contribute more towards the €1.2 billion bill for compensating victims.

The letter from Ruairí Quinn follows questions put to Taoiseach Enda Kenny in the Dáil yesterday about the status of the payment of compensation by the congregations.

In 2009, the Ryan commission published its finding that children put into State care in religious-run residential institutions had suffered systemic abuse. Under the 2002 indemnity agreement, the congregations agreed to provide a contribution of €128 million to those abused, comprising cash, property and counselling services.

The final cost of the response to residential institutional child abuse, however, has since been estimated to be in the region of €1.36 billion. The Government said last year that it believed this should be shared on a 50-50 basis, between the taxpayer and those responsible for managing the institutions where the abuse took place.

Last July, Mr Quinn expressed his disappointment at the level of contributions offered by religious congregations to meet costs of the compensation, saying that offers from the religious congregations to date had fallen far short of the amount needed.

The department said yesterday that the letter had already been in train, before the questions received by the Taoiseach, and that the correspondence was “the official expression” of what Mr Quinn had asked of the congregations last summer.

A spokeswoman confirmed that the letter would be sent in the next fortnight.

Mr Walsh, as a (So Called) outreach officer, you make me sick. Is this the best you can do, to criticize a Survivor for a misspelling error. You are (SUPPOSED) to be an outreach officer? I repeat (SUPPOSED) to be.

How dare you mock, and jeer at the inadequacy of a Survivor, who has the misfortune to make an error in spelling on this, or Any site for that matter. It just goes to show, your complete Ignorance, and total lack of Understanding of Survivors, how they think, and how they feel. The very people who your MOB are getting Thousands of euros every year to represent, and (SUPPOSEDLY) help?

If so, then there is never going to be ANY hope for Any Survivor to get the proper Redress, with Total Muppets like you running the show.

I recall Mr Micheal Walsh, on many many occasions, where you yourself have made many many spelling errors on many of these sites, and know only too well if need be, i could muster the lot of them together, and make a laughing stock of you.

Mr Walsh, i dont recall anybody calling you stupid, so where that came from i don't know? You should get your facts right before you say things like that.

Why you had to refer to the Gentleman's error in the first place really is beyond me. It does Not say a lot for a person who is in the position you hold as outreach officer in the Waterford region.

You say he knows nothing about you. Everyone knows exactly Who you are, and How you got to where you are. You don't need to be a rocket Scientist to figure that one out.

I have Never seen a good deed you have done, or your group for that matter, for ANY Survivor. 

Your stage manager recently put up a (14) page full of BULL on your site about all the good changes your Company is going to do in the future. 

Who do you lot think you are talking to? These are Survivors, who you claim to be interacting with. Most survivors would NOT have a clue how to go about Interpreting this load of Gobboldy Gooch BULL. you have put up on your site.

Of course, it all looks really well for your Sponsors, Great window dressing, but total Rubbish to the ordinary Survivor, who might as well be looking into a hole filled with Thrash. because that is exactly what all of this is.

You say you are one of the people who is trying to interact with people on this site? 

May i ask you Mr Walsh, WHAT people are you trying to interact with? Because it most certainly is NOT the Survivor, as you speak a different language to the one they understand.

From the very begining  the church HIERARCHY ,the government dept's, planned the whole thing to keep the Abuse under raps by setting up so called services for survivors to make themselves look careing to the general irish people ,when in fact all they have done is cause so much damage and further trauma , PLEASE TELL ME WHERE IS THE JUSTICE IN THAT.

THE GOVERNMENT NEVER INTENDED FOR US TO BE HEARD ,NOR GET REAL JUSTICE ,the DEPT of Education are up to their eyeballs IN THE COVERUP, The Religious Orders Must not hand over any more money to the Government BUT FIND SURVIVORS THEMSELVES they know the names of all survivors and pay the compansation directly to the Survivor.It was alright to Distroy childrens lives then just ignore them.
