Section 4: Who can apply for the Fund and how? First Update From the Residential Institutions Statutory Fund(RISF) September 2013

Who can apply for the fund?

Only people who have received awards through the Redress Board or

equivalent court awards can apply to RISF.

What about children of survivors?

As the legislation stands children of survivors are not eligible to apply.

The Minister has given a commitment that he will review the eligibility

criteria in 2015.

How do people apply?

We are not ready to take applications yet. As soon as the terms of the

scheme are finalised we will let all survivors know by contacting anyone

on our mailing list, working with existing survivors and other welfare

groups and using the media in Ireland, UK and other parts of the world,

particularly local newspapers and radio stations.

If you think you are eligible for the scheme, please register with us now

and we will contact you to let you know when we are inviting
