The Shame of Ireland

The Shame of Ireland

TO ALL SURVIVORS,

As Minister Jan O’Sullivan is new to her job, would it be at all possible that we could band together and ask the Minister to meet with a group of survivors so that we can voice our ISSUES with the Caranua program. As Caranua was developed for the survivors and because most if not all are already entitled to these services offered either by age, medical card or through social circumstance the Caranua program IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Minister Quinn, did say he would review the program in 2015, the new Minister needs to review it with URGENCY NOW! We need to have an account from the Minister as to what is happening to our SURVIVORS MONEY AND BECASUE ITS OUR MONEY WE NEED TO BE KEPT INFORMAED OF SPENDING. We would like to know from Minister Jan O’Sullivan about the interest on the 110 Million and where it is being banked, also where the rental income from properties given to survivors by the religious is being banked on our behalf , and what is happening to the original 110 Million.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Education isint a thing to offer ageing survivers. Were it really a service we would be contacted by them and not as now writing to strangers. As for english lessons in dublin its too unsuitable to even believe. We have signed petitions before but you never know. With these things going on how are we going to get closure.

What you say is so true!

I would like to meet with the Minister.  My experience as  a Magstrate and Public speaking would be of great benift.  I do not shudder in front of anyone and  do not hide behind others..  My Book makes that obvious.

Hi Kathleen can I meet her with you please

Hello Barbara,   I spent 7 years in a hell hole in Moate, and I would love to meet with the Minister because the caranua people are receiving salaries from our money.   I dont mind travelling to Ireland if that is where the meeting will be held,  but will there be a member of the fund at the meeting as well,  I dont think they should should be at the meeting as they are just to quick to tell us survivors that there is no cash in hand just some help with medical problems and such like,  but I'm sure there are a lot of us whose health is pretty good and we need financial help.   I live in Southampton but would really love to attend the meeting.

Hi Barbara.  If I can be of any help, count me in

I would think survivors as a group would write a letter to the minister requesting a meeting with her to discuss our concerns about the Caranua Fund. This would not or should not include any member of staff, management or board member from Caranua. This would have to be a private meeting between the survivors and minister, it would only work if the formed groups that already exist against the Caranua Fund were to ask all those against this fund to have a small group represent everyone. Its not easy to get meetings with ministers but can be done and they normally only meet a few people at one time together!!!

Hello Barbara,   just getting back to you message on the 24th Sept, about a meeting with the Minister regarding the caranua fund any news on that front,  I am against it and would love to be included in the meeting.

hi, there is no meeting arranged with the minister at present. I suggested a meeting so that a group of survivors might get together and try and arrange a meeting!

How many of you have received the Presentation Package from Caranua? and what do you think of such?

My view.  It is a scandelous waste of our money this stinks of yet again JOBS FOR THE BOYS.

Also why do we need an "ADVISOR" more waste.

What happened to the Petition signed by Survivors objecting to the Government making any decisions without the Survivors being involved.

I had a conversation with an Advisor and I found his line of conversation belittling and condesending.  I informed him of such he apologised alas to late,  Such people are ill advised of the History of abuse, we should be interviewing them as none so far are qualified to advise any Survivor.  How many of those employed have read the Ryan Report?.

This is a shameful operation.

The form is laid out as if I were applying for a permit to visit an ageing relative in Syberia in mid winter, when you had to apply for a Permit.  Long live Comrade Stalin.

The Fund is being squandered right under our eyes.

Who do we blame?  Yes Ourselves.   We are not showing strength.  Again United we Stand Divided we Fall.

Rob.

Hope you are well.  where do I find the page to inform you of my Blog?

Thanks for all your hard work.

Kate.

Once again Kathleen I agree with you, about, we have only ourselves to blame. We all do the talk but not the walk. But saying that "What can we do". As for the Petition, Well!!!. I also had call from caranua, finding it very hard to go cap in hand to Dentist or anyone else.
