The Shame of Ireland

The Shame of Ireland

TO ALL SURVIVORS,

As Minister Jan O’Sullivan is new to her job, would it be at all possible that we could band together and ask the Minister to meet with a group of survivors so that we can voice our ISSUES with the Caranua program. As Caranua was developed for the survivors and because most if not all are already entitled to these services offered either by age, medical card or through social circumstance the Caranua program IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Minister Quinn, did say he would review the program in 2015, the new Minister needs to review it with URGENCY NOW! We need to have an account from the Minister as to what is happening to our SURVIVORS MONEY AND BECASUE ITS OUR MONEY WE NEED TO BE KEPT INFORMAED OF SPENDING. We would like to know from Minister Jan O’Sullivan about the interest on the 110 Million and where it is being banked, also where the rental income from properties given to survivors by the religious is being banked on our behalf , and what is happening to the original 110 Million.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Marylou, I did email her, her office did reply but have had no contact since, was thinking if someone went to the meeting in Tipperary town tonight they might get to talk to her on our behalf. She is having a meeting in the Community Centre and all are welcome its about Mental Health issues. I am not available to go as my husband is in hospital.

http://www.caranua.ie/news/656/caranua_board_minutes_31_may_2016 - they are planning on doing up the premises their in and some of the Survivors cannot get a penny!

http://www.caranua.ie/news/657/over_50_million_spent_on_services_fo... - I'd like to know where they spent €50 million because they are not spending it on survivors, and I have see it first hand the work being done by the cowboys they are hiring to up grade survivors homes.

Hi all, these are some photo's or the bathroom renovations done by one of Caranua's preferred suppliers at a cost of €4,000 in the home of a Survivor!!

Get them to a newspaper now.

hi Shep, I'll be sending the photo's to every politician and media, plus we will be filling a claim against the company and caranua. the woman has no money to finish the bathroom, and three times the owner of the company was to visit and take a look at the work, every time an excuse he couldn't make it. Well no more filling to the court this week.

What the last photo of ?

Plumbing in taps on a sink?

Is that the Pedestal? (tall white object)

You would have to look at the Contract

"Supply and Fit" is Just That!

"Making Good" is Repairs to damaged Surfaces holes filled properly etc.

This doesn't include Decorating!

Caranua has no Right To Pay the Builder unless the Client is Satisfied!

Are these Preferred Contractors Ripping off Caranua by overcharging and or supplying inferior Goods and Materials??

Hi Rob, in the photo's you are seeing the unfinished bathroom of a survivor, the white object is a pedestal. No contracts were signed by the client the workers just showed up one Monday money with no notice, did not even supply facilities for the woman she had to run across to the supermarket to use the bathroom. She had asked Caranua to refit the bathroom for her old age not one safety item was put into the bathroom. She had applied for tile from floor to celling, they took off the skirting board and did not replace it. The sink is not fitted correctly and is been held up by the pedestal and the tile up over it, behind the toilet is not finished and have left a piece of wood to keep it level. The shower basin was put in unlevelled and no extractor fan was put in the bathroom , the tile on the floor is not level either and sticks up at the edges which is not safe. The client was not given any choice of product only a colour of white or cream, the sink and tiles came from the 1980's and the floor tile would be used in a restaurant or public toilet. The company we found out are a maintenance company who do work for the council on council housing, so yes there is something not right here.
