TO ALL SURVIVORS,

As Minister Jan O’Sullivan is new to her job, would it be at all possible that we could band together and ask the Minister to meet with a group of survivors so that we can voice our ISSUES with the Caranua program. As Caranua was developed for the survivors and because most if not all are already entitled to these services offered either by age, medical card or through social circumstance the Caranua program IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Minister Quinn, did say he would review the program in 2015, the new Minister needs to review it with URGENCY NOW! We need to have an account from the Minister as to what is happening to our SURVIVORS MONEY AND BECASUE ITS OUR MONEY WE NEED TO BE KEPT INFORMAED OF SPENDING. We would like to know from Minister Jan O’Sullivan about the interest on the 110 Million and where it is being banked, also where the rental income from properties given to survivors by the religious is being banked on our behalf , and what is happening to the original 110 Million.

I am with you on that Barbara, given the amount of survivors who would be unable to travel or have no wish to be know in public i doubt if we will get high numbers, we would need to be creative in our approach to maximise exposure.

We got conned by the redress board we are never gona let that happen again, is there one abuse victim here that knew their abuser would go free or that we would be gagged in law from telling our story when we took part in the redress system. I had no idea untill years later if i had known i would of choosen court, all the millions to lawyers and this was never explained that is the worst kind of failing to clients, they had a duty to protect our best interests not just cream in the cash.

yes I totally agree with you - the whole thing was a conn from start to finish and the money is just going around in circles too, its seem to me that the 600 million has been slowly but surely ending back in the hands of the very Church with the now caranua's preferred suppliers schemes and the indemnity clauses. Every politician and lawyer should be shouting from the rooftops about the privacy issue alone. Maybe our concerns should be sent to the Date Protection Commissioner?

I am involved with an organisation and we lobby government quite a lot, I am at the Dail at least 4 to 5 time a year. I have spoken to many TD about our issues and you get lip service and nothing else. I know that we need at least one TD willing to come and stand with us as this would get good exposure and to have as many survivors as possible.

Michael, I think Clare Daly would be a great voice for us, she has being the only TD in our corner!! The Dail are going on holidays next Thursday for ten weeks, maybe we could ask her to have as many people as possible from this forum be part of the committee for our voice to be listened to by any review of the fund.
