The Shame of Ireland
TO ALL SURVIVORS,
As Minister Jan O’Sullivan is new to her job, would it be at all possible that we could band together and ask the Minister to meet with a group of survivors so that we can voice our ISSUES with the Caranua program. As Caranua was developed for the survivors and because most if not all are already entitled to these services offered either by age, medical card or through social circumstance the Caranua program IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Minister Quinn, did say he would review the program in 2015, the new Minister needs to review it with URGENCY NOW! We need to have an account from the Minister as to what is happening to our SURVIVORS MONEY AND BECASUE ITS OUR MONEY WE NEED TO BE KEPT INFORMAED OF SPENDING. We would like to know from Minister Jan O’Sullivan about the interest on the 110 Million and where it is being banked, also where the rental income from properties given to survivors by the religious is being banked on our behalf , and what is happening to the original 110 Million.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Wishing You All That Is Good In 2017 Barbara!
Hi All, in previous posts you will see the bathroom renovations Caranua did at the home of my sister and the otter dreadful workmanship on the bathroom and the way it was left unfinished. Anyhow, its back and forth with the preferred provider of Caranua and its happened to more than my sister by the same company. Over €10,000 has been used from the fund to replace windows and doors and renovate the bathroom to make it safer for her in her later years. However, she is in a County Council rented house and the renovations done on the house were paid for from my sisters fund and she will never own any of these renovations. If she had to move tomorrow all the renovations would have to say with the house and she would not be able to get any further funds to fix up another house. My question is why did Caranua not work on her behalf to get the Council to renovate their own property when it was needed, in the original guideline of the fund it was the remit of Caranua to work with the Local Authority to make sure you were in a warm safe home suitable to the persons needs. Caranua are not working for anyone of the survivors that they were hired to do on behalf of all survivors, I am going to take this matter up with my local councillors and Dail TD's.

Hello Barbie. I had thought the work had been done by the local council and was less than satisfactory.
Hi Jack, you would think, however it was Caranua that got the work done for her with their preferred suppliers and the work is terrible. They never vented the bathroom and now there's black mould growing on the walls.
There now should be a full investigation from start to finish and the investigation should look into this as one, abuse is abuse no matter where you were residing either in a mother & baby home or a state and religious run institution. The police force from this Country "Ireland" should NOT be allowed to investigate as I would not trust one of them, many of them colluded with the scum back in the day. An investigation team should be brought in from out side this Country and the Redress Board, the Solicitors and Caranua should all be brought into the full investigation.
hello Barbie. Tried several times to respond but system repeatedly failed.
