hello kathleen. I have read your book and i think its a very important legacy that you wrote. We all suffered from the total lack of attention. But some managed to channel that . the people who cause this fighting seem to be the group leaders who damande some kind of loyalty if thay show any interest. I also see comments defending them mostly from themselves or close familybut its very defensive. there is a lot of anger and deception behind these comments. if we all stop writhing well thats it we will be separated with no one who understands.i liked your book . the atmosphere was right.

Hi Pauline.

As well as the paid Group Leaders, members of Shame of Ireland have done their fair share also of unacceptable Irish Institutional behaviour.   A united front is what is essential, when that goal is achieved we will see a change  until then the pattern will remain the same.

If we leave our impressions of being on the outside without information on here it will be us witnessing all the cloud of so called good intentions. As to the group leaders of all sorts who think thay know us well how come . thier existence appears like newspaper propaganda. if it wasent for these sites i wouldnt know of thier existance at all so its clear that its bluff.

all good books should be and must be promoted! divide and rule is the order of the day! Rob does a great job here! i hope more members will help us put the pieces to this jigsaw together!

Jack.

The Group Leaders were paid and handsomely at that.  They pulled the wool over our eyes .    Hind sight is a great thing.

We note with deep sadness the death of Mary Rafferty. Mary worked tirlessly in programs on radio and tv to expose the severe abuse of us, as children in Irealnds institutions. Mary has done more for Irealnd than any leader who fought for independence. They fought to gain power, Mary fought to restore our childhood dignity to us and to  show Ireland, contrary to its proclamation,  to" Cherish all of the Children of the Nation Equally," was nothing more than  empty words for all governments of  Ireland, right up until Mary exposed the horrific abuse of children in state institution. In other words up until Mary exposed childhood abuse in state institutions, our governments appear not to have understood the meaning of the words in our proclamation.  Mary made this section of the promaclation, a reality when  she made the documentry, States of Fear and wrote her book, suffer the little children.

Thank you Mary, Your life was a blessings and gift to all of us who suffered our childhoods in state institutions, in the custody of the religious orders.

I ment to mention in my above posting there is a very interesting  letter on Paddy Doyle's website, from Carmel mc donald to Dr Bill Tomey asking him to put her, Carmel's very best friend, Christine Buckley's name forward to Enda Kenny to have Christine given freedom of the city. WOW.

MANY OF US SURVIVORS WOULD NOT BE HAPPY WITH THIS PROPOSAL. THE ASHLIN CENTRE RUN BY CHRISTINE B AND CARMEL MC DONALD, HAS BEEN A NASTY PLACE FOR MANY SURVIVORS AND WE OUGHT TO COME STRAIGHT OUT AND SAY WHY CB IS NOT DESERVING OF THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN.  CB AND CARMEL MC HAVE MADE THE AISLIN A PLACE FOR THEIR PALS MAINLY FROM GOLDEN BRIDGE.

SOMEONE PLEASE WRITE TO DR BILL TOMEY OUTLINING WHY CB IS NOT DESERVING OF THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY.
