The Letter waiting to be ratified to the Revenue Commissioners is our Best bet, It is currently Ratified by 9 Members of the "Shame of Ireland" if we can get all the Members to Ratify it? We can send it to the Media at the same time!! The HSE keep funding these Groups because it was the groups that where involved in the negotiation of the Statutory Fund and to accept that these Groups do not Represent Survivors; would put the whole Statutory Fund in Jepordy!

This is why this letter is so important, yet Mambers do not act?

One letter Ratified by 50 Members would carry more weight than single letters!!

It would also mean that as a Survivor Pressure Group that WE the "Shame of Ireland" where actually on the Political Map??

This would be a world first as we have no Leader, because we are not Sheep!

What we do have is a passionate Membership who will not be lead about bythe nose!!

Hi Michael,

Welcome to the Debate! Everyones opinion is valid, and indeed Welcome!

Your Posting appears to have run short?

I have to say that in light of the Anecdotal Evidence of the way in which Survivor Groups aquired their Membership that a full audit of Membership could be achieved without breaching Data Protection Law, a Mail ot of Postcards to be returned to FREEPOST Address?

If the New Board want to be seen to be for the Good, they should be Ratifying our Letter?

HELLo MICHAEL well its supposed to be about survivers of industriel schools. its not about the needs of right of place. we do not know these people. if thay decide to give extra help in this case or that on what basis do thay decide who gets extra help and who doesnt.  since thay only represent survivers whom thay know.what right do thay have to decide for all of us .

Well Jimmy, Strong Feeling bring Strong Words; Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
If indeed Michael is the acting Chair Person of the Right of Place?
I Applaud him and Welcome him!
I have repeatedly on Paddy’s’ Site invited the Leaders of the Survivors Groups to Join us on the “Shame of Ireland”, I have also sent Personal emails where I could to the “Leaders”. (Which have fallen on deaf ears).
The Fact that Right of Place (NEW) is publicly opposed to the Statutory Fund, means to me, in my personal opinion that They and their Members are welcome here!
We have common ground and a Job to do!
Of Course I still have issues with
The History of their Finances;
The History of the Negotiation of the Statutory Fund;
And of course the Lack of an Audit of Members?
If as you feel Michael is the Acting Chairman of the NEW Right of Place, he has nothing but my Admiration and Respect for Stepping into the “Lions Den”?

Its the nearest i have gotten to the right in ten years of wondering what was being done for whom where. Ithink that its only by exchanging ideas that we will be able to express what we feel about these people who have improvised themselves as being capable of healing. We or thay can not change our pasts and become different. we are ourselves as we have lived a different kind of life we can not undo any part of it.Its gratifying to be thanked all the time.thats okey for the leaders.but what is the price.?????. We dont get any thanks when thay use money meant for all of us. we are all damaged whiether it shows or not .

Hi Jimmy,

You know me very well by now!

The Letter to the Revenue Commissiner still stands!

Michael's Membership of the "Shame of Ireland" is a valid one as far as I can acertain?

I have no Private or Public Grievance with any Suvivor or their Children (Which Michael is).

To say I "Run with the Hare and Bark with the Hounds"

Anyone who wants the Statutory Fund Gone is an Allie of Mine!

Anyone who wants Funding for Organisations who do not or cannot deliver what Survivors is NOT!

It is not me who has to "Run with the Hare or Bark with the Hounds"

In My Posting Above I quite Clearly State

"I have to say that in light of the Anecdotal Evidence of the way in which Survivor Groups aquired their Membership that a full audit of Membership could be achieved without breaching Data Protection Law, a Mail ot of Postcards to be returned to FREEPOST Address?

If the New Board want to be seen to be for the Good, they should be Ratifying our Letter?" (this is the Letter to the Revenue Commissioners)

It is my opinion that any Money that has been paid to Survivors Groups, and unaccounted for was Stolen from the Survivors (Abuse allowed by the HSE, and the Greed of a few!). I want this back!

I have Just approved a Member whose name is Michael Walsh?

If it is the Michael Walsh I think it is then we should Welcome him?

This could  be the beginning of BIG Change, and a NEW Future of Democracy for Survivors and their Families??

Kay, I understand that you won't hold your breath?

However!!

I am holding mine!!

I have been trying to get the "Leaders" of Survivors Groups to interact with us for 5 Months!!

Hard work can pay off??

If the ROP are genuine, let them sign the petition on PADDY DOYLE'S website seeing is believing. We do not need more offices, who is going to fund them pay wages and everthing else that has to be paid.Enough money been spent on groups supposed to help survivors I or many others never got any help whatsoever so please disband all of them.

Kay,Catherine and Jimmy, We have been freinds long enough and we know what we and each other believe!

Jimmy your Comment

"cant wait to see the 1500  to also become member's here!   Wow, who know's where that will lead, Rob, maybe we will also get all the other group leader's sign up, and then really be in a position to challenge the Government,"

Is I believe slightly tonge in Cheek and also a Comment full of Optimism!!

I have for a long time been saying "It is not about Personalities but the task in hand".

Even if the R.O.P. have a core of 100 members or less that they can bring in!

If we all work together on what is important to Survivors (Not The Government) who knows what can be achieved?

And ALL WITHOUT a LEADER!
