Dear Mr Northall,
No date has been set for the publication of the draft legislation to establish the Statutory Fund. It is not possible to say when it will become law as there are a number of different factors that will impact on this.
Regards,
Aongus Ó hAonghusa,
Residential Institutions Redress Unit,
Department fo Education and Skills.

Dear Sirs
I understand that the Statutory Fund is to become Law this Autumn?
I assume that before this can become the case that it needs to be Read in the Irish Parliament?
I am Unfamiliar with the workings of your Parliament.
Can you advise me as to when the first reading of this Act will be?
How long after this will it become Law?
Yours sincerely
Rob. Northall

Dear Mr Northall
Plrevious Reply for Barnardos
Thank you for your email dated the 10th September, this is the only email we received from you.
At the request of the Department of Education and Skills, Barnardos set up a Freephone the purpose of which was to provide former residents of industrial schools with an opportunity to have an input into the planning being undertaken in relation to the establishment of the Statutory Fund of €110 million which has been contributed by the religious orders to be used for their benefit. In addition to former residents the Freephone was open to all interested parties to give their views.
The Freephone operated from 3rd August to the 27th August. We received 131 phone calls and 341 suggestions. All questionnaires were returned to the Department of Education and Skills .by the 3rd September. This is the only involvement that Barnardos had. For further information, I suggest that you contact the Department.
Yours sincerely

As yet no reply from the Redress Unit (It is offensive that they are in Charge of the Satutory Fund)
I have had the Petition extended until the end of the Year!!
There is also another Petition at

This is growing quite rapidly and seems worthy of support?
