Hi Saenie,
This has been lifted out of a nother posting to draw attention to it!
You may have already signed it?
It will not let you sign it twice???
I am deeply Concerned that the Membership is not involved in the Site??
There are a core of contributors of which you are included; but the Lack of involvement needs to be addressed.
I have written Guides to help people to use the site they are @http://shameofireland.co.uk/forum/categories/how-to-get-the-most-of...
May be I need to do more????
Hi Pauline,
I understand there are many and varied reasons for the lack of Involvement.
The Shame of Ireland is a private site ONLY the Home Page is visible.
I have left it this way because of the many who would feel uncomfortable about showing their support for fear of stepping into the spot light!!
The Votes are so secret even I can't tell who has or hasn't voted??
True Democracy!! This is what I set out to achieve.
I also understand I am asking everyone to learn new skills and trust the site and other Members??
Survivors are all at different points in their learning and healing, which is why I differentiate on the "Sign up" between Survivors, Spouse/Partner and Individuals with Common Objectives. (I also need to know how many we are representing)
It is not just Survivors that are not giving the site their commitment but those less affected???
Thank you for your feedback on this I realy appreciate you taking the time.
You and those Survivors that are growing in the strength that the Shame of Ireland are a real inspiration to me!!!
Take Strength in the Comfort of Friends, and Grow in their Unconditional Acceptance!
Well rob ,i have had a look in live votes , but i did not know until this evening that i could scrool down or up to find the white thing but now i know that . but exactly where do i vote so that i know if it worked or not. i cliced in on view. does that mean that i have voted or not. thanks very much for being patent .
Had this Reply from the Software Devellopers today
When you see "View Results" it means you have voted and if you see "Vote/View" it means you have not yet voted.
On Click of "Vote/View" : There appears a window showing the options to select and vote. On click of Vote, your vote will be update to the database and the count beside the "Vote/View" will be update at the same time. You can click on cross( on the top right of the window ) to close the window if you want to vote it later.
On Click of "View Results" : There appears a window showing up the complete results for that vote."
I Hope this Helps Everyone?

A CONTROVERSIAL government-funded charity for survivors of institutional abuse is set to open offices in Galway, Waterford, Limerick and Cork, according to a newsletter published by its new board of directors.
Right of Place in Cork will continue to be funded despite claims that government money — and money donated by religious orders and bishops — was not filtering down to members.
Concerns have been raised continuously over the past 12 months by members, other survivor groups and opposition politicians.
Right of Place has been funded to the tune of at least €2.4 million by the HSE since 2002, with a further €1m coming from the Department of Education.
A large portion of this money was spent on wages and expenses. At one stage the charity had 18 staff, including cooks and security personnel.
However, there is no known record of how hundreds of thousands of euro donated by dioceses and religious orders, such as the Rosminians, was spent and the amounts were never recorded in audited accounts.
Late last year a new treasurer, Tom Brennan, said he could find no "record or evidence" of how anyone except a select inner circle benefited from the charity over a 10-year period.
Shortly after his appointment to the new board of directors, Mr Brennan resigned as he said he could not get answers to the questions he was asking.
However, in a recent newsletter to its members, Right of Place says Mr Brennan stepped down for "personal reasons".
"I would like to make it very clear I did not step down for personal reasons," he told the Irish Examiner. "This is more of the bluff and bluster from the new board and I want to put the record straight."
The newsletter also attacks the Irish Examiner for "pursuing agendas" which it says have caused pain and hardship to survivors.
Ironically, the newsletter offers VEC computer courses, despite the fact that the Right of Place website was discontinued in recent months.
Meanwhile, the Irish Examiner has been contacted by several people who say they never signed up to be members of Right of Place but somehow ended up on the organisation’s database.
A Magdalene survivor in her 70s, living in the US, requested to be taken off the database in 2009 but got no reply and still receives correspondence.
The woman says she never signed up to be a member of Right of Place and the only person she gave her details to was a solicitor travelling in the US with the charity’s founder Noel Barry.
The woman said her concern was that someone had given her private and confidential information to the organisation without her permission.
Right of Place claims to have 1,500 members and has been funded accordingly.
Former treasurer Mr Brennan said he asked to see a database of survivors on several occasions but said he was never given access to it.

That is criminal something must be done to stop those so called services for survivors groups must have their Funding Stopped NOW, ,All of them. Their books should be examined and all Names checked of every person those groups Claim funding for. (that is every survivors RIGHT to know) If someone claims funding using my name I have a RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT THAT, also every Euro given to those groups over the years must be accounted for. The corupt Government knew what they were doing from the start , >by allowing certain people (who had grown up in Industrial schools themselves ,therefore damaged in some way ,no child who grew up in those brutal institutions could NOT be effected ,and the Government knew this but it was very convenient for them in order that that Government and Religious could wash their hands of survivors thereby creating devisions , which allowed the Corupt Government and Corupt Religious Orders to HIDE BEHIND< ,A systum used in The Industrial Institutions The staff allowed one or two children to be their pets and flaunted this in front of the rest of neglected children , this system of those funded groups is on the same principal , I am not surprised those Group so called leaders want the Statuary Trust Fund >all they are thinking about is their funding to continue to keep their offices and still claim expences , can't blame them for that ,it has offered a bit of power over the rest of survivors and make them feel more important than they really are ,it is time for all that to change and The Statuary Trust Fund Must be Stopped and every individual survivor compansated fully .
This is a Private Site
Membership is drawn from Survivors of the Irish Industrial School System their Family and Friends. Survivors of the Magdalene Laundries their Families and Friends are welcome too!
