They talk about audits on abuse victims and at they same time hide their running costs, i have asked for these a month ago, Rob whats a reasonable amount of time to give them to deal with that request?.

14 Days Maximum for a written Response to Simple Correspondence

One Month when there has to be some Digging and work Gathering Information!

There no reason why thy cant send information out as they gather it!

My  Wife's Application was received on the 11th May (confirmed because I rang) I am still waiting for the written notification which they say will be 10 days after receipt!

Write to the Ombudsman and send them a Copy also to their own Appeals officer!

Also im glad that abuse victim got so much it is what we all deserve and shows the blatant discrimination that has been part of caranua since day one, sooner or later we will find out the reasons behind this discrimination,  it also shows the complete mismangement of the fund, this is what we all should be getting, we are victims of a crime not beggars. It seems to me that anyone who has stood up to higgins / caranua finds themselves unable to access the same levels of funding or even a fraction of those levels, even the current legislation tells caranua to provide payments to us to avail of servivces and that is all, if caranua is in effect a trust they have no basis in legal terms to conduct audits on us, it goes outside their remit and adds yet another layer of stress on us. Im sure caranua would love to see us turning on each other over who gets what. The correct management and system needs to be put in place, one that we are happy with.

I have been on to the ombusman for months now, they are little better than useless. 10 days is now 60 days ffs, caranua has never since the very start adhered to its own guidelines this is just fodder for the press for which we are paying for.

What is the problem with Caranua other than the people running it. First check the person applying is a survivor time for this half an hour next check what they are applying for have they sent in a estimate for work to be done. Caranua was not set up to look for cheaper estimates all this should be completed in two weeks. Instead they have created a monster that the people running it have know idia of what they are doing.I wish someone from Caranua would explain what will happen when this fund run out and survivors that have applied for help and received nothing what action can they take will the Caranua board be taken to Court after all this money can be classed as survivors compensation from the Catholic Church The incompetence of the Irish government in attempting to control the lives of survivors shows the contempt the Irish government and the Catholic Church has for survivors and it also shows the extent it will go to cover there crimes

That is exactly the problem William, if it was run right it could be a help to us. I have said this many times see the need send the money that should be it, we have enough stress in our lives as it is with caranua adding to it.

If any business was run like Caranua it would not last one week.If Caranua is to carry on at this rate and with this amount of incompetence there will be a tremendous backlash when this fund is gone
