Workshops in industrial schools

Hi everyone,Thanks for all the really useful responses for my last piece of work. They have been really helpful for my research.I'm now writing my thesis and I've chosen to focus on the workshops in the industrial schools. When the industrial schools were opened in the 1870s the shop training seemed to be quite useful and several numbers of the boys were able to get work in their trade after the time spent there. "Hello Maurice - yes it seems that nearly all of the industrial schools made them in the shoe shops. One that I was able to see had a coin or key at the top. awful"

"Hi Pauline. O'Donoghues (Dublin) manufactured them on the quays and Owen Sheehy Skeffington had a list of manufacturers that supplied them - waiting to see it in the national library"
