The Shame of Ireland
On the 18th of August 2020 I paid £100 towards keeping the website up and running.
I was going to let it lapse and then it would have disappeared, but I thought better of it!
So what do we do with it?
What direction does it take?
Who is going to run it?
My life has changed dramatically and the reason I set up the website "To stop the Statutory Trust Fund from being set up" has ceased to exist as the organisation it spawned "Caranua" has run its course.
Questions were asked of it at the Public Accounts committee, and I believe that those questions are because of my work here, as the questions that were asked are identical to those posted at
Questions for the Public Accounts Committee
That being said this is a valuable resource for the future, and a record of the fight and wrongs that were imposed on Survivors. There is a lot of information, and a lot of Survivors opinions, experiences and feelings embodied in the complex structure of the website.
To lose all this would be a shame!
I have asked previously if anyone could help migrate it to free hosting as I do not have the technical ability to do so, and cannot afford to pay for the site maintenance!
So how do we preserve it and what direction does it take?
It is up for another year so there is time to ask around and see if some way of sorting it out can be found?
Please let me know what you think and can do?
Or maybe you know someone that can help?

It would appear I owe PayPal money,
and the site is up for another year
The UK Bank Account details are
Sort Code 09-01-28
To pay directly into your Shame of Ireland account from abroad, you will need to use.
Your Bank can help you?
Bank Identifier Code (BIC) ABBYGB2LXXX
International Bank Account Number (IBAN) GB14ABBY09012833520774
The Bank Account is in my name but only used for the website and nothing else.
Alternatively, there is a PayPal Donate button on the home page of the site (PayPal Charge a fee for doing this)!
Has The Fee Gone up (reference above post)?
Is this site going forward now for another year regardless financial situation (contributions?
Hi Jack, the site fee has been the same for years at £169
There is a negative balance on the PayPal account used to pay the fee, which I have 90 days to resolve, so the site is up for now, I'm unclear if PayPal can reverse the transaction and then the site collapses??
The bank account linked to the PayPal account will try and pay PayPal again today, this may incur transaction reversal fees???
Thanks for confirmation (Fee figure). Is the negative balance for this year (2021)?
What is the percentage of fee payers? For last 2 years say?
I contributed a few days ago. Sorry for delay. You should not be out of pocket. There is time now for members to decide the sites future! Is the site going to be alive or dead this time next year?
