The Shame of Ireland

Hello fellow prisoners, The latest numbers I see regarding payouts to survivors in the UK are; 6,234.215 to 569 survivors I don't know if that is pounds or euro's as I do not trust my own math, how much does each survivor receive, I get 109,564 that must be wrong as my education stopped at age 14 to be put to work in Glin.

I have tried to get help but it takes several months to get advicer contact. I have great differculty walking since i had an Attack last year. Its happened slowly. At first i could still get about but now i cant even cross my flat. Its differcult to know that first i have to wait 4 to 5 months for support bars.I havent been able to get outside for several months now. Perhaps i will need a Wheel chair just to get outside. The adminstrative is much too long.I am out of touch as i live in France so i really dont understand why things take so long.

Sorry to hear that Pauline, it takes so long because of the needless bureaucracy put in place by mary higgins to justify there large wages. Caranua could have that payment in your account in a matter of days so the mind boggles as to why they refuse to do this, Michael

@ Melissa its a scandal sending disabled survivors off to beg from other services.

@ Maureen all we can do is keep fighting, i have the reviewing my dealings with caranua and i am meeting a solicitor next week to discuss the points i have been making, my own feeling on the matter aside from the fact that we should not have to go to these lenghts is if we can focus all the survivors behind the fact that there human rights are being trampled all over, that survivors are being discriminated against that caranua goes against its own legislation, if we get enough voices saying the same thing then they must hear us. I think the board needs to remove mary higgins as i belive its her attitude towards survivors is the driving force of the mistreatment of survivors.

Staff Wages And Expenses Should Never Have Been Included In The Fund For Survivors. That Set Up Should Have Been Vigorously Opposed On All Sides Until There Was Victory Not Least On Account The Conflict Of Interest But Also On Behalf Of Whom The Fund Is For (Survivors).

Thats true since thay are employed by the government.

Absolutely but shame the opposition failed on that account.  It was a wicked thing to do. No staff should be paid out of survivors funds.  Staff it can be said might be motivated to keep their jobs and wages going and one way is lower the amounts of money given to survivors.  Legal advise should be sought. Clarification long overdue.
