In 1951 on the 19th of June my Sister and I were both committed to industrail Schools by Judge Roideain at Howth D.C.
My sister to Newtown Forbes, and me to St Vincents Boys School, Drogheda.
My sister was nearly six months old and that was the last time I saw her, until I was 54, in 2003.
I was 2years and two months of age.
So here started the imprisonment of two innocent children, my sister for 16 years and a half years and myself for 13 years and 10 months. A total of, 30 years and 4 months.
My earliest memories of that day were of been taken away by two people dressed in black, and of been confused and very frightened. There was a witness to that moment and fifty-four years later she told me what had happened next. She said that on that on the day, as they were taking me away in a car, one of the nuns tore the dummy from my mouth and threw it out of the window, saying " where you are going you will not be needing that" therefore taking away my last bit of comfort.
This was told to me by my Aunt Sis in 2003. I had met her after so many years. She had wanted to adopt my sister and me to prevent us from being put in the industrail schools, but was refused by the court. Sis also told me that I was screaming for my Sister whe they tore us apart, my sister and I had always been together from the day she was born.
Where is your humanity? Christian society? I think not.
Just some more money to be from two innocent children.
I can remember the court and being torn apart, all of what I describe- Yes, at the age of two.
