The Shame of Ireland
St Patrick, our beloved Irish Saint...
Oh St Patrick, would you come and take me for a dance,
Let us both do a Jig of Love, Hope and Freedom
Across the Counties of Ireland –
Let us dance along the steps of the Garden of Remembrance..
In memory of all who died for the cause of Irish Freedom –
On to Kilmainham we will go
Where we will do a Waltz of Tears
For our brave men who died by execution
For Irish Freedom.
We will venture on in silence to the
War Memorial in the Phoenix Park and
We will stand together in silent prayer
For soldiers of all wars and Let us lay there a Poppy of Hope.
With hands linked together in prayer
We will take the Luas to the G.P.O.
Where we will do our 1, 2, 3,
And we will do a swing for Ireland
To liven up all citizens and visitors
To our Green Irish Isle.
St Patrick, Let us kneel and pray..
That the snakes and lizards who hid
Behind your cloak will be sniffed out
And we call on you St Pat, Our beloved Irish Saint..
To Walk with us once again..
And grant us Hope for our Country
To reclaim Love, Truth and Freedom
Let our Irish Voices be heard!
