Please contact Conall O'Fartharta at the Irish Examiner he is the Senior Journalist and is keen to hear from survivors who have been mistreated by Caranua, if you have letters refusing your request for what is rightfully yours let him know this is our oppurtunity to expose what is going on. I have been BARRED from phoning Caranua by M. Higgins, one reason being I demanded answers to questions. How is this treatment any different from our ROBBED childhood days. The difference now being we are adults and will not be SILENCED.
Hi Kathleen, have already being in touch with the paper to offer any help i can, also please if you have time email a couple of politicans, being that they are thrashing out a deal to form a new governement its an ideal time to get survivors needs back on the agenda. Cheers Michael
Im not sure will find out for you, i honestly think we are starting to get through to them and its because of people like you who sent the emails, put up with the endless refusals and kept fighting, so fair play to you and everyone on here. Michael
Hi Michael, hopefully this will get a few people from this forum onto any panel set up for the review. Well done for sending in the request!! I have had the same kind of replies from his office the usual one that everyone gets that he is not responsible for the day to day running of Caranua. I said to him that he may not be responsible for the day to day running of caranua but he was responsible for legislation and the management of same. He can hire and fire the CEO and Board members, and he told me to contact the garda if I thought their was wrong doing at Caranua. Just another cop out! Oh I had a call for Patrick today from caranua after 18 months saying I could apply under the new or the old guidelines.
Was that long ago when he called you Barbara? I would ask him to point out to you the differences in each in writing so you can make the best decision for yourself. Be wary of promises they make on the phone, at least in emails/writing you have a record of whats said.
