Women Meeting

Mazenod Community Hall, Quex Road, Kilburn. From 12noon to 3pm on October 10th. The nearest tube station is Kilburn (Jubilee Line).  Please call if you need any further information about meeting (number as above

Whispering Hope will be meeting with the Caranua Board in September and hopefully will have more information at Whispering Hope's meeting October.

Whispering hope has stated. "It will not be possible to deal with individual esquires at this meeting but if you wish to speak to any staff at Whispering Hope on this matter, we are here to assist you at the office or by phone". " we can also undertake home visits to anyone who is unable to Travel due to mobility or any other disability".

As Whispering Hope is having a meeting with Caranua. Why have they not asked survivors What sort of questions they could ask Caranua on their behalf?

Such questions could be asked such as why are survivors advisers being changed on a regular basis?

Why can you no longer send in a quote viva email?

Why is it taking so long for survivors to be appointed advisers, as some are waiting weeks/months

to just send in their applications?

I am sure there are a lot more questions on that can be asked on their behalf to Caranua.

Just a thought: If survivors are not represented by a survivors groups, Why is it they can not have a meeting with Caranua because Whispering hope only represent people in the London area. I know there are other groups in other major cities but what about survivors in rural areas who do not have the means or transport to get into the major cities. Who represents them?

Another thought if you wanted too. How do you set up an official survivors group?

Why is there not a change of survivors every year or two on the Residential Institutions Statutory Fund Board and Caranua Board.

 Thank You for Reading!

Hi Kathleen,

I don't care what they say, I have spent a life of being told what to do and now I'm my own person with my own rights.

I agree with you, I have no regard for any of the twisted, corrupt people who are working for the Caranua whether it be directly or indirectly. It's obvious they're going to have people on the so called 'lookout'. I assume Whispering Hope has it's hidden agenda's there then.

Is it true that they can imprison any of us for up to two years? That wasn't mentioned in any agreement so they would surely have difficulties enforcing that one on those of us living in England.

I'd like to see them catch me first.

I am fairly poorly and it's there for the rest of my days. However, I won't be beaten by them. Anybody involved in the abuse, Caranua, any govt ministers, the garda.....they're all just abusing scum.

Thanks for your reply Kathleen.

Complaint to the UK Charity Commissioners Against Irish Women's Sur...

This Also Applies to the "Whispering Hope Centre" this may explain their sudden interest in their Membership?

"At the conclusion of my discussions with one group of the Magdalene Women one of those present sang 'Whispering Hope'. A line from that song stays in my mind - 'when the dark midnight is over, watch for the breaking of day'.
Let me hope that this day and this debate heralds a new dawn for all those who feared that the dark midnight might never end."

- Taoiseach Enda Kenny's State apology to the Magdalene women.

On 19 February 2013 the Irish Taoiseach Edna Kenny apologized to the women who had been incarcerated in Ireland's Magdalene laundries. In the audience sat Steven O'Riordan, a documentary filmmaker and founder of the Magdalene Survivors Together group. And by his side, waiting patiently for the words they'd been fighting to hear, were some of the women he had helped.

For Nancy, Kathleen, Diane, Marie and Marina were confined in Magdalene laundries throughout Ireland during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The harrowing physical and psychological abuse they endured in the institutions, run on behalf of the State, led to a lifetime of shame and secrecy.

Now, in WHISPERING HOPE, these women tell their stories for the first time. Their fight for justice and forged friendships has enabled them to move forward and have their voices heard, their individual accounts weaving together in an immensely powerful narrative that shines a light on a dark chapter in Ireland's history.

Inspirational and moving, this is the story of five women brave enough to confront their past and strong enough to not let it define them.

Time is not on our side, that is a sure and certain thing, how to speed the process, I know not, I suppose the more stuff caranua do, they better they will be at it, I believe communication is key, if only to tell a survivor that their file is still in process, I have gone from great communication with caranua, to none, this is why I only write, at least I have  paper trail, I live in a rural area, not far from a priest, who thinks he is omnicient, for my sins....

So Much Talent Amongst Survivors!

Whispering Hope are very selective who they inform about what is going on.  I never receive any letters etc from them even though I have been on their books for almost ten years. I thought they were given funds to help ALL SURVIVORS in the London area

When will Survivors realise that the Group Leaders are being paid by the Irish Government.  If one has a voice the G.L. don't want involved.    They are frightened of those of us with a voice, the reason being we can no longer be manipulated. I have never received any information from either Mulready or Morgan.

They are acting illegally asking for information on the Redress Board etc.  To what avail is this useful to them other than feed it back to the Government or put their findings into the wrong hands.  Incidentally both women are on the Panel of Caranua.   This Organisation I understand will be no more within the year .

One has to ask where has all that money gone?

Why are members of Whispering Hope not allowed to ask questions.

IAllegedly these two women  receive payment for every Survivor they claim to have  on their books.

I rest my case.

Kathleen O'Malley.  "Childhood Interrupted"

Why is Caranua disbanding in one year and what will happen to our money if there is any left.  Who can we complain to that that we are not supported by Whispering Hope even though we are on their books

They are disbanding because there will be no money left ........they spent it all mainly on their own wages.

There is nobody you can complain to.....they're all corrupt.

Finally Got a Copy of the Letter sent to IWSN Members, It begs a lot of Questions?
