Well thay do a lot of blessing. But if Ireland is cleaning up after the abuse caused by the last popes well it would be better to keep them out of government. popes do not change anything when thay bless anybody.its got nothing to do with him and im sure he doesnt give a damn who he blesses. ask hitler. and all the others.but its shocking to see this poster in ireland now.its not a political arguement for a future leader.

The Dana Posters are mock ups - I was going to post them in You Gotta Laff but Dana seriously thinks she has a chance of getting into the Park AND her supporters have little doubt either. You only have to read some of the comments on to realise how fanatical some of her supporters are:

"" I am appalled that anyone would try to smear Mrs Scallon. She must become Uachtaran. We stand to lose everything worthy in this country if she fails again. Please vote for Dana Rosemary Scallon so we can return to the position of respect we held in the 1950s when the world looked to Eire for moral leadership. We can be sure that Mrs Scallon will do her utmost to bring about a renewal of honour, faith and everything we cherish. Our Irish emigrants in England,Boston and Australia should be allowed to vote. They can see the truth from afar. We in Ireland are misled by false gods. Vote for Mrs Scallon and protect the unborn and the faithful. ""

What an odious comment that is to me as it was the 1950s that I was incarcerated.

As a six year old in 1953 i was tried in the four courts and condemed to ten years inside goldenbridge. people in the fiftys knew what these places were' and kept quiet because of fear. thats wasent a moral issue but fear of losing thier own kids. as a irish child i was appalled every day by the indifference of the people the government and above all the nuns who showed no morales at all . i hope that the people keep thier heads up now and choose for themselves

Can it be true that there are people in Ireland who still believe that it is a land of saints and scholars? If there are, they should read Amnesty International's report 'In Plain Sight' released in late September. It castigates the Irish Church State for the decades of abuse inflicted on its most vulnerable in society.

political partys must be challenged about their past. made to account for their actions. not immune from prosecution.
