Ya know what, every day people have there homes taken from them here in ireland, by the same people who gave them the funds in the first place, while not been able to see inside the head of any individual, it is difficult to know if the idiot in the room was the bank, or the person who went into the bank to get the money, perhaps on s gert rich quick scheme. One manager told me thast it was the fault of the people eho got the loan, and not the ones who gave it to them. SO I ask my self, exactly who is having a problem in ireland with caranua, is it those who did not go trough the redress board, is it those who did go to the redress, board, but given thre circumstances they will not benifit. because they live in a flat or appartment of other rented accomadation, or is is those who did not register, and did not go to the redress board, so do not qualifi.

Some time back I decided to look at my house insurence policy, I found that it was going up every year by 15% meaning it would cost twice as much to rebuild, not one of those I contacted were interestd, saying it was by pesponsibility, so I contactd the financil ombudssman, and others, long story short, they payed me back a nice few bob, I next went after the bank, re PPI  insurence, they refused to admit, so back to the ombudsman. My point, is that, in these changing times, more and more we need a paper trail, phone calls are ok, tho noting better than a paper trail. Some letters I received, said, if I had any more questions please feel free to call. i never did, and my and large prefer to write.

What ever the reason, and regardless of weather our pain in physical or emotional, they both hurt. As of this point in time, and in relation to by dealings with Caranua, I have had not problem, it is a slow and tireing process to be sure, this may be because they have to have there own paper trail. I know they are getting paid, I also know that although I have been trough the redress scheme, and got a few bob, In all honesty I do do know were it is gone. The work done at our house has cost more that the few bob I got, and the things I am getting done wil leave the redress payeout in the hapenny place.Thing could change in heart beat, I hope not, Finally may I say, paper trails are were it is at now, if you do not get a reply, there are organisations in place, registered letters are also good. There is also the freedom of information act, a gret scorce of information. So not sure if all this makes sence or perhaps I am only having a rant,

I is clear as day, that information is power, ask any business man or woman. Best regards to all. .

Hi Shep, having read the above response I am confused. People in Ireland being evicted has nothing to do with Caranua. Of course the bank manager will say the responsibility lies with the lender but the problem lies with the speculators and a government that allowed banks to get out of control and then when it all went belly up the government gave a promissory note to cover the total cost This is far different than Caranua .Caranua or as it was known as The statuary trust fund was rejected by 95 per sent of the survivors that went to the Redress board something that the government refused to accept and for what ever reason decided to hand the money to a charity. This has led to a very long delay for survivors to get access to what ever they are entitled to and as many of the survivors are in there later years of life many will never receive anything and even if they did very few would want education of something they are all ready receiving such as medical help most if not all have medical Cards. As I have stated Caranua was imposed on the survivors with no interest of the survivors needs.A far better system could have being found to distribute the money than having to go through the Caranua board that the survivors have to pay for, and a paper trail well that is a joke Just my opinion

Thank you for that William.
Will check it out if it's the Manchester Group? Last time I enquired about a meeting of theirs I was threatened with "Security Guards" should I try to attend! Will dig out the relevant post later

hi, kid, things are shure changing in caranua, if I did not have my paper trail, I would be at a loss for shure, I would be in the area of " I said you said " the bank is not very different, any time I go in to them, they look at me like it is my fault, I am getting this from caranua, however, without exception, all my communication with them is in writing, when I was trying to deal with the education fund, I used the phone and not the pen, this time I used the pen. They would like me to call them, this is never going to happen, I even recorded my a few of the times they did call me, and they were in conflict with there written letters, Alowed in ireland.  it goes on. now I have written and audio and is exceptable in law. Sorry about the delay, indifference is everywhere,
