The Shame of Ireland
I think its only fair that Survivors should be able to ask for an Inquiry into Caranua from the Public Accounts Committee?
Its fair to say that using a simple management tool and a calculator that this runaway Train could have been predicted Months and Months ago!
A Straight line Graph shows a Steady Trend!
A Graph that takes a rapid upturn is less easy to predict
As you can see a Competent Manager would have predicted this early on and gone back to the Minister asking for more funds!
The Steepest part of the Graph is December 2014 to February 2015, this would have rung alarm bells for me!
So now they want to Cap Applicants could they have seen this coming?
As you can see the answer is a resounding Yes!
All Data is Taken from Caranua's own Website!
I am Deeply indebted to ROBERT for getting me to think about and analyse these figures!
I'm sure he has his own observation to add?
As I'm sure you all will?
I look forward to your Comment and Questions for the Public Account Committee

How can caranua reconcile their obligations under the legislation with the flat out refusal without discussion of services to some survivors.
How can caranua refuse a much needed urgent medical procedure to a survivor costing 20k and then spend this amount on a meeting in a luxury hotel.

Why would caranua refuse to help a homeless survivor get off the streets and yet spend large amounts of survivors money on stays in the finest hotels.
Why would caranua mislead the appeals officer in the appeals of survivors.
Why despite being the largest non funded and without vested interest survivor group here in Ireland does caranua refuse to engage with us despite being asked to hundreds of times.
The reason they wont help homeless survivors is under the act this is all there willing to do (copied and pasted)
Minster
As you will be aware, the Act sets out four broad areas of approved services for the Fund to support.NO INCLUSION AND FAIRNESS THERE so to say survivors needs are being met under the act is ludicrous, and both houses agrred to that
It is now a matter for you as a Board to put the flesh on the bones of the legislation,
And yes they should be held to account but also so should the government under the ground of exclusion
Why did Caranua initially state that children of survivors were eligible to apply in the same way as the statutory trust fund and then alter it to.... Only the people who received redress??
Was it not the fault of the Irish Church, the Irish Government, Social Workers Nuns and Priests that I lived for so many years in horror even though I didn't attend an institution?
This is why I have Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety, Self Harm, Suicide Ideation, Anorexia etc.....so Who's fault was it then????
