Hello robert I am relatively new to all that is happening about the trust fund but was told that I could get help for my Grandson when he chooses to go on to either further education or University, but i do not think the irish government should be doing things without talking to us the SURVIVORS I feel we should be involved. I spent 7 years in a hell hole they call the convent of mercy but was shown anything but mercy.

hello rob ' well yes i would like to join this group ' as i have not seen my elder sister for 40 years , But you know rob that finding people does not mean that thay will be willing to make a place for us in thier lives , we can never get a family life back . its sad but at least we meet them at least once

hello i wish we -the victims of ireland could join in a picket of the irish state embassies and trade missions located especially in united kingdom and u s a and brought our injustices out into the bright sunlight of public domain -the public at large must know ,only then will we feel we -survivors have protected irelands future generations of children. they are all vunerable . future victims for the evil beaurachy waiting in the wings.

Hi Robert

Thank you. The Add Comment button on Andrew Brennan's blog wasn't working yesterday.

I found out about your website by following the link on the late Charlie's ("The Hare") Maguire's obituary published in The Irish Times newspaper entited "Victim of 'Irish gulag' who spent most of his life in State custody":

Hi Robert

Apologies - a correction! I read the obituary of Charlie ("The Hare") Maguire in The Irish Times. I then Googled for more information and found the following political forum, and this was where I found the link to The Shame of Ireland website:

Robert, you are doing a great job with the amount of word you are putting into this site for us survivors. Sorry that I cannot bring some contribution towards it. Howerer, Rob you can add my email to any vote that is in the interest of our group. Take Care and Love to All on Shame Of Ireland. Maggie.

Thanks for the friendship Robert, and well done it is my hope that this group along with the ITCCS can make inroads into the inaction by Church and State on the issues.

I hope that I and the Members can offer more than friendship; as a Democracy it is their choice!
But I have my own mind as you are aware!

I value your Friendship!

Your Friend Rob

Hi Robert can this lost soul join this great group, I have never had any help from any of these so called Groups I hope none of them have my name on their lists ,only paddy and you have my permission . I am an older survivor from the 1950's brutal child prisons and have never had any justice all I have had is more abuse when I tried to ask for help in tracing siblings noone wanted to know so I have spent a fortune over the years ,I found there was no help .those so called group leaders should be ashamed of themselves.but I suppose not they got their funding thats all they wanted they took Blood Money and sold survivors out to the Abusers.

To the religious orders who I am certain read all our posts you TORTURED us as young children in your Industrial schools and distroyed not only our childhoods But you DISTROYED our whole lives ,those of us that are still alive continue to suffersurly you have all the  names of children that were Detained in those dreadful sadistic places ,We deserve to be each compansated as individuals not as a bunch, and each paid into our own bank accounts so that we can have some comfort in our later years and have something to pass to our children who's lives have also  been effected by what we were put through as children. DO NOT PASS ON OUR RIGHTFUL COMPANSATION MONEYS TO THE GOVERNMENT , As they will only keep all of it in there own Coffers, The Real Survivors would NEVER see any of it. JUSTICE FOR SURVIVORS

Hello Robert and all here.

I joined the List in order to show my support in solidarity. But I find it heart-breaking, and disturbing, that only a handful of people have signed up. Althought I extend my support and sympathy to ALL who have suffered at the hands of our Catholic and political leaders, as well as the large majority of Irish people, I do not particularly wish to be one-in-a-dozen, but where the 'army' stand. What makes you think that Paddy would suddenly 'join here and lead this group', when he is offering a good platform with his own, well established website? Good luck to all. I am so sorry that the Irish People as a whole, have been so abusive to the Victims, by their total lack of concern. (and I won't let anyone tell me, that they are not ALL like this....or that some DO care). Sure, you know how I feel I hope.

On your side.  Raymond
